Problem:
The Battery and its retail locations have a significant drop-off in traffic and business after the baseball season ends.

Solution:
Our solution is to design an app that helps generate business to the Battery in the offseason. We aim to do this by creating features that consolidate all retail, dining, and event details into one uniform mobile platform. Our goal is to increase visibility, awareness, and exposure for the Battery, as well as making a visit to the Battery a more streamlined, efficient, and an overall more enjoyable experience.
Research
Competitive & Comparative Analysis

We gathered data from our initial research, synthesized the information to form pain points, needs, and opportunities in order to determine how best to approach the issues we face.
-
No mobile apps for any of the venues compared
-
Social media accounts seem to be updated frequently
-
Third party events occur frequently at all sites
-
Each of the compared competitors have residents, shops, restaurants, and event venues on the premises or very close by.

This Journey map helped us outline the possibilities of what a current user journey is for the Battery.
-
Our hypothetical users initial goal was to make a quick run to the Battery with his wife and two daughters.
-
From the beginning he was frustrated with Atlanta traffic and finding parking. From exploring the Battery, and buying clothes, his emotional experience changes throughout his journey.
Interviews & Observations

Luis - El Super Pan
“We’ve noticed a big difference in business after baseball ended.”
From our interviews we discovered that there was a large drop in visitors, customers, and overall foot traffic in the Battery after the baseball season ended.
To offset this several of the businesses have adjusted their standard business practices to try and drive more sales.
However, most of the businesses at the Battery feel the need for more exposure, brand awareness, communication with property management and an overall increase in interest from visitors.
